1. Sun-In
This is one of the oldest tricks in the book when it comes to getting highlights at home. All you need is a bottle of Sun-In (you can find this at any drugstore) and some time in the sun. Simply spray your hair with the Sun-In, then head outside and let the sun work its magic. The longer you stay out, the lighter your hair will become. Just be sure to wear a hat or scarf to protect your scalp from getting too much sun!
2. Lemon juice
Lemon juice is another natural way to lighten your hair. Simply combine equal parts lemon juice and water in a spray bottle, then spritz all over your hair. Head outside and let the sun work its magic for about an hour, then rinse out with shampoo and conditioner as usual. You may need to repeat this process a few times to get desired results.
3. Honey and vinegar
Honey and vinegar are both great ingredients for lightening hair naturally. Combine 1/4 cup honey with 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup water in a bowl or jar. Apply mixture to damp hair, then cover with a shower cap or plastic wrap and let sit for 30 minutes to an hour before rinsing out thoroughly with shampoo and conditioner as usual. You may need to repeat this process once or twice a week until you achieve desired results.
4. Chamomile tea bags
Chamomile tea bags can also be used to lighten hair naturally! Steep two chamomile tea bags in boiling water for about five minutes, then remove them from the water and allow them to cool slightly so you can handle them without burning yourself. Squeeze out excess liquid from the tea bags, then massage them into your damp hair for several minutes before rinsing out thoroughly with shampoo and conditioner as usual
