We caught up with Violette_FR to find out exactly what she swears by when it comes to achieving that effortless Parisian glamour look. Here are her five key products and tips:
1) The first step? Hydration is key! Whether it’s our Clarisonic Mia 2 or a simple face lotion, make sure you’re moisturizing your skin every day. Especially during winter months when dry skin will be the norm!
Facial moisturizer: “I love this Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream because it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy.”
Clarisonic: “I never go anywhere without my Clarisonic Mia 2—it exfoliates and cleanses my skin from all the dirt and oil that build up during the day!”
2) Makeup – I always apply a light layer of concealer under my eyes to get rid of dark circles before I head out in the morning (Violette_FR uses Kevyn Aucoin’s The Concealer). I also use Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape Contour Concealer to spot conceal any blemishes or redness around my nose and chin. When applying blush or bronzer (Violette_FR loves Jouer Cosmetics Tinted Moisturizer), apply them before you powder so they go on super sheer and natural-looking; don’t forget a swipe of highlighter above your cheekbones for extra glow!
Under-eye concealer: “The best one I’ve ever found is from Kevyn Aucoin—it blends perfectly!” Contouring: “My favourite product for contouring at the moment is Tarte’s Shape Tape Contour Concealer.” Blush/Bronzer/Highlighter: Apply these before powdering so they go on super sheer and natural looking”
3) Eyes – Last but not least comes eyeshadow! I love using something matte, like MAC Matte Eyeshadow in Teddy; after applying some along my eyelid, I blend it into an even layer using an eye blender brush (I like Sigma Beauty E40 Eye Shader Brush). For lashes, a deep black mascara will do wonders (Violette_FR uses Lancome Grandiose Mascara in Noir Black)—if you want something more dramatic try Lancome Grandiose Extase Mascara in Noir Black too—for extra length!
