Fashion round-up: different hemispheres, different seasons – Lucire

We love the Alpenglow dress, which is a great example of how Icebreaker has improved its use of Cool-Lite fabric, a blend of Merino wool, TENCEL and Lycra. The effect is a softer, more natural-looking fabric, which is still breathable and moisture-wicking. The Alpenglow dress comes in at ankle length, with a flattering A-line silhouette, and would be perfect for layering in the cooler months.

The Grenadine colourway is our pick of the bunch, but it’s also available in Black and Sea Glass.

Elsewhere, the brand has released its first-ever sustainable down jacket, the Sierra Down Parka. The jacket is made with recycled down and features a water-repellent shell. It’s also ethically certified by the Responsible Down Standard, meaning the down has been sourced humanely.

The Sierra Down Parka is available in women’s sizes XS–XL and men’s sizes S–XXL, in the colourways Black and Forge Grey.

If you’re looking for something a little lighter, Icebreaker has also released the Hooded Meridian Lite Jacket. This piece is made with 100% Merino wool and features a DWR finish, meaning it’s water resistant. It’s also got a hood and zippered hand pockets, making it ideal for unpredictable weather.

The Hooded Meridian Lite Jacket is available in women’s sizes XS–XL and men’s sizes S–XXL, in the colourways Black and Sea Glass.

Finally, we have the Trailbreak Shorts, which are made with a blend of Merino wool and nylon. They have a DWR finish and are designed to be lightweight and breathable, making them perfect for active pursuits. They also have a zippered pocket at the back, so you can keep your valuables safe while you’re on the go.

The Trailbreak Shorts are available in women’s sizes XS–XL and men’s sizes S–XXL, in the colourways Black and Sea Glass with bottoms, dresses and layers made from its Cool-Lite and MerinoLOFT fabrics. The collection is available in the US from mid-September.
