The ten-step Korean skincare routine is a regimen that has been followed by women in Korea for generations. This beauty ritual consists of double cleansing, exfoliating, toning, essence, sheet masking, eye cream, spot treatment (if needed), moisturizing, and sunscreen. While this may seem like a lot of steps at first glance, each one plays an important role in achieving and maintaining clear and youthful skin.

The first step in the Korean skincare routine is double cleansing. This means using an oil-based cleanser to remove makeup and dirt from the surface of the skin, followed by a water-based cleanser to cleanse the skin more deeply. Double cleansing ensures that all impurities are removed from the skin before proceeding with any other steps in the routine.

Exfoliation is the second step in the Korean skincare routine. Exfoliating helps to slough off dead skin cells and reveal brighter, smoother skin underneath. It also allows for better absorption of subsequent products in the routine. There are two types of exfoliation: physical exfoliation (using scrubs or brushes) and chemical exfoliation (using acids). Physical exfoliants can be harsh on sensitive skin types; therefore , it’s important to use them sparingly or not at all if you have sensitive skin . Chemical exfoliants work by dissolving dead skin cells without scrubbing or irritating the skin surface . AHAs(glycolic acid , lactic acid )and BHAs(salicylic acid) are popular chemical exfoliants used in Korean beauty routines.

After exfoliating , its important to follow up with a mild cleanser to avoid over stripping your skin .

The third step in the Korean beauty routine is toning .Toning helps restore the pH balance of your skin after you have cleansed and exfoliated it .It also prepares the skin to absorb moisture and other products that will be applied next in the routine more effectively .

A stringent or antioxidant toner can be particularly helpful for oily or sensitive types who experience acne breakouts as it can help to control oil production and soothe skin dryness and redness caused by acne inflammation respectively.

Essences are then applied to the face before moisturizer in order to boost hydration levels deep within the skin barrier. Thereafter, Sheet masking should be done to hydrate the skin and rejuvenate it, this should be done at least once a week but preferably twice a week for maximum hydration benefits.

Eye creams form an essential part of the next step of this routine as they help to prevent fine lines wrinkles dark circles and sunken under eyes In addition to maintaining a good skin care routine its also important eat healthy foods and get regular exercise which will all help give you glowing clear complexion. To end the routine apply a moisturizer with either a lotion or cream based moisturizer and end it with a generous application of SPF.
