In addition to the coveted title, Alyssa wins a year’s worth of free Allure beauty products and a trip to New York City to attend our annual awards show in October. We sat down with the new queen of the blogosphere to get her reaction to the news and to find out more about her beauty routine.
Alyssa, first of all, congratulations! How does it feel to be this year’s Allure Beauty Blogger of the Year?
Thank you so much! I am honestly still in shock and can’t believe that I won! It feels amazing to be recognized by such a prestigious publication and to know that my work is appreciated by so many people.
What made you decide to enter the contest?
I have been reading Allure magazine for years and always dreamed of being featured in it someday. When I saw that they were holding a contest for up-and-coming beauty bloggers, I knew that I had to give it a shot.
What was your favorite part of the contest?
My favorite part of the contest was definitely getting to try out all of the different beauty products that were sent to us. It was like Christmas every time a new box arrived at my door!
What are your must-have beauty products?
Some of my must-have beauty products include MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, and L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara.
Any beauty tips or tricks that you swear by?
One of my favorite beauty tips is to always use a primer before applying foundation. It makes such a big difference in the way your makeup looks and lasts throughout the day.
What’s next for you? Any exciting projects in the works?
I am currently working on launching my own line of natural skincare products. I am really passionate about using clean ingredients and wanted to create something that would be beneficial for both the skin and the environment. Stay tuned for more information on that later this year!
