5 Celebrity Makeup Artists Reveal Their Favourite Beauty Hack

ining this term ‘bad days’ for when you are running late for work, or when you have to attend an impromptu meeting, or when you are just not in the mood to do anything. On such days, we all need a little help from our makeup bag to look presentable.
While we all have our own little beauty secrets that we swear by, I thought it would be interesting to know what some of the best makeup artists in the industry use as their go-to beauty hack. So, I reached out to five different celebrity makeup artists and asked them about their favourite beauty hack. Here’s what they had to say:
1. Use A Good Primer
One of the best tips I received from a makeup artist was to always use a good primer before applying foundation. This makes such a difference in the way your foundation looks and how long it lasts throughout the day. A good primer will help your foundation go on smoothly and will also help it stay put for longer. If you have oily skin, then using a mattifying primer will be a game-changer for you. My personal favourite is the MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Primer in Radiant Yellow because it brightens up my complexion and makes my foundation look amazing!
2. Set Your Makeup With Powder
Another great tip is to set your makeup with powder after you’re done applying everything else. This will help your makeup last longer and will also prevent any shine from coming through. If you have oily skin, then setting your T-zone with powder is a must! I like to use the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus because it gives my skin a nice matte finish without looking cakey.
3. Use Cream Blush Instead of Powder Blush

If you want your blush to look natural and glowy, then using a cream blush is the way to go! Powder blushes can sometimes look dry and cakey on the skin, but cream blushes always give that beautiful dewy finish. My favourite cream blush right now is the Nars Multi-Use Cream Blush in Orgasm because it gives such a pretty peachy flush to the cheeks!

4. Line Your Eyes With A Pencil Liner First And Then Go Over It With A Liquid Liner

If you want your eyeliner to really stay put, then lining your eyes with a pencil liner first and then going over it with a liquid liner is the way to go! This ensures that your eyeliner doesn’t budge or smudge throughout the day. My all-time favourite eyeliner duo is the MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner in Black Ice paired with the MAC Fluidline Eye Liner in Blacktrack— these two products work so well together and make my eyes look amazing!

5. Curl Your Lashes Before Applying Mascara

If you want your mascara to really make your lashes look long and voluminous, then curling them before applying mascara is a must! This simple step makes such a big difference in how your lashes look after mascara has been applied. I always use an eyelash curler before applying mascara and my current favourite is the Shiseido Eyelash Curler because it really does make my lashes look super long!

So there you have it— five different celebrity makeup artists revealing their favourite beauty hack! These tips are definitely going to come in handy next time you’re getting ready for your day (or night)!
